Top 10 resumé mistakes

  1. Not targeting resumé to the specific position. 
  2. Negative information e.g. reasons for leaving your last job. 
  3. Boring resumé with no spark. 
  4. Using strange formats, and weird paper and inserting pictures. 
  5. Not proofreading again and again and again… 
  6. Inconsistencies between the resumé and cover letter 
  7. Useless information (age, sex, marital status, race, SIN etc.). 
  8. Employment history not in chronological order. 
  9. Thinking that longer is better and adding copies of supporting materials.
