Norm’s Golf for Grads – in memory of Norman Jacobs

Our Golf tournament is dedicated to the memory of Norman Jacobs who was a founding member of the Grand River Post Secondary Board.
July 14, 2017, marked the 20th Annual Norm’s Golf for Grads tournament held at the MontHill Golf Course.  Golf for Grads was GRPSEO’s main event to raise funds for GRPSEO specific scholarships.  The profits from the Norm’s Golf for Grads were combined with the GRPSEO staff Dress Down Friday donations. All proceeds from this golf tournament were placed in the Grand River Post Secondary Student Scholarship Fund, and was used to extend scholarship opportunities to Six Nations students funded through the GRPSEO office. With the continued short fall of funding available through our office, this fund became a valuable resource for our students.  Without the backing of prominent and generous members of the community we would not have been able to further assist our students as they pursued their higher education.
From 2001 to 2018, GRPSEO raised a total of $132,669.74 to help our college and university students in their education endeavors.  The generosity of time and financial support from all of the donors over the years is what made this event such a success every year.  The Student Recognition Booklet of Graduates & Award Winners (located on our website) demonstrates the outstanding accomplishments of our students and those who benefitted from the GRPSEO specific scholarships. A special thank you to the Jacobs family for their continued support in this event and their willingness to help make a difference in the future of our students.
With the generous financial support from the scholarship funding agreement established between the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) and Grand Renewable Wind LP this has made it possible for GRPSEO to place this fund raising event on hold and utilize this financial contribution towards the GRPSEO specific scholarship fund.
